Furniture Northern Beaches
Furniture Northern Beaches — Solid Timber, Rattan and Custom Made
Chocolate Wood has been selling furniture on the Northern Beaches since 2006. Our showroom is in Manly Vale, on Condamine Street, and we've furnished homes from Manly to Palm Beach for close to twenty years.
If you'd rather see timber in person than judge it from a photograph, come in. Grain, weight, colour and finish are difficult to assess on a screen, and there's no substitute for putting your hand on a table.

We're a few minutes from Balgowlah, Brookvale, Seaforth, Freshwater and Dee Why, and an easy run from Narrabeen, Newport and Avalon.
Our showroom carries a selected range rather than the full catalogue — around 2,400 pieces are available online. If there's something specific you'd like to see, call ahead and we'll tell you whether it's on the floor.
What we sell
Solid timber — dining tables, buffets, bedroom and living room furniture in mahogany, oak and messmate. Construction varies by range — individual product pages set out the timber, dimensions and finish for each piece.
Recycled and rustic timber — recycled elm dining tables, buffets and benches. Reclaimed timber with genuine character: nail holes, colour variation, saw marks. No two pieces alike.
Rattan — natural rattan furniture that suits the coastal and Hamptons styles common across the Northern Beaches.
Australian custom made — built at our Riverwood factory and workshop on Bonds Road. Available in Victorian ash and American oak, with blackwood, blackbutt, American walnut and New Zealand pine also available. You give us the dimensions, timber and finish. Estimated production time three to four weeks, plus delivery.
Hamptons and French Provincial — built to your wall
The painted Hamptons look is everywhere on the Northern Beaches, and it's one of the things we're asked for most.
We build white painted French Provincial and Hamptons pieces to order — wall units, bookcases, buffets and hutches, sized to your room rather than to a standard. These are built in white painted MDF, which is the correct material for a painted finish: it takes paint evenly, doesn't show grain through the topcoat, and stays flat across a large door or panel where solid timber would move. On larger buffet and hutch pieces we usually finish with a solid Victorian ash top, often in a contrasting colour.
On colours. White is our standard and by far the most popular. Black is available at additional cost. Beyond those two we're limited to commercial-grade Dulux colours we can source — ask us before you plan around a particular shade.
If you've got an alcove, a chimney breast or a long blank wall that nothing standard fits, this is what custom is for. Call us and we'll come back with a quote in writing.
Two Sydney locations
Showroom — Manly Vale. Shop 33, 228-232 Condamine Street, Manly Vale NSW 2093. Open Saturday and Sunday 11am – 4pm, weekdays by appointment. This is the one to visit if you're on the Northern Beaches.
Factory and workshop — Riverwood. Bonds Road, Riverwood NSW 2210. Where our Australian custom-made furniture is built. Viewing strictly by appointment — it's a working factory rather than a showroom, so please call first.
Delivery on the Northern Beaches
Local delivery is straightforward — most Northern Beaches orders arrive within three to five working days for items held in stock, and we bring the furniture into the room you want it in.
Enter your postcode on any product page for a freight quote before you buy, or call us and we'll work it out with you.
Buying furniture that lasts
Everything we sell carries a 12-month manufacturer's warranty against manufacturing faults, in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Solid timber can generally be sanded back, re-oiled and repaired. That's the case for buying it once rather than three times.
We're also happy to post free timber samples to anyone considering a custom-made piece. Just ask.
